ViaNova 3000 STANDARD

ViaNova 3000 STANDARD is an instant migration solution for HP-3000 environments that use standard products and technologies. As an intermediate step towards fully native applications, ViaNova 3000 STANDARD allows for the quick elimination of the HP-3000 platform. The range and depth of this solution require very few changes to the original code, and offer full emulation of the original environment.

ViaNova 3000 STANDARD has the following characteristics:

• Programming languages FORTRAN, COBOL, RPG, PASCAL, SPL

COBOL and PASCAL are adapted to the new platform. Applications written in other programming languages are migrated to optimized C/C++ code. Their interface to OS and subsystems is maintained.

• Data storage File-based storage, K-SAM and Image DB

For almost every MPE native storage method, ViaNova 3000 STANDARD offers a compatible solution. With better performance, of course.

• User interface edWin, Wingspan

Forms and user code are migrated to Wingspan or a client/server solution that keeps all existing features while adding a whole series of new ones.

• Intrinsics and Utilities MPUX

System calls and intrinsics as well as most MPE utilities and subsystems are emulated by MPUX, the MPE-on-UNIX emulator.
